Learn how to make a mojito

It was a long, cold, gray winter. So when you open your weather app, sunny forecasts and warm weather forecasts open up a whirlwind of possibilities. Should I go to my favorite place? Reading a book outside? No matter which spring you choose, one thing that you absolutely need to incorporate into your day is a mojito. It’s light, fresh, and simple enough for anyone to do from home.

Simple cocktail recipes that are perfect for dinner

Like margaritas, mojitos are a popular cocktail when temperatures reach 60 degrees and above. When you sip on the refreshing aromas of mint and lime in the drink, you can enjoy the few extra hours of sunshine. Fortunately, all you need are a few simple ingredients to make a quality mojito in the comfort of your own home. Collect mint, white rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and lemonade and you’re good to go.

If you don’t have a simple syrup on hand, you can make it at home with just two ingredients: sugar and water. Put half a cup of granulated sugar and half a cup of water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves. Once the simple syrup has cooled, it’s ready to add to your cocktail.

This mojito recipe keeps things very simple. You can enjoy it as is, or treat it like a canvas and use other ingredients to customize the taste. If you want to sweeten the drink, mix strawberries next to the mint. If you prefer a cocktail with a little heat, use jalapeno. You can even add cucumber to boost the drink’s already cool, thirst-quenching properties. No matter how you prepare your mojito, there’s no denying that it’s the ideal warm weather cocktail. Pair it with one of these incredible grilled chicken recipes to really welcome spring.
